How to review installation log files?

If you're troubleshooting install errors for Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, CS6, or CC and the error occurred after you clicked Install, analyze the main installation log:

1-    Navigate to the log files in one of the following folders:

  • Windows 32 bit: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
  • Windows 64 bit: \Program Files(x86) \Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
  • Mac OS: /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/

The log file name includes the product name and install date, followed with”. log.gz." The extension .gz indicates a compressed format.

2-    Use a decompression utility such as Winzip or StuffIt to decompress the .gz file. Once uncompressed, the log file is a plain text file.

3-    Open the .log file using WordPad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac OS).

Note: By default, log files open in Console on Mac OS. Select all of the text by pressing Command + A, and then copy and paste it into a text editor before continuing.

4-    Scroll to the bottom of the log. Look in the -- Summary -- section for lines that start with ERROR: or FATALand indicate a failure during the installation process.

Or,

You may use the Find feature “CTRL + F” (Windows) & “Command + F” (Mac) and Type “Error” or “FATAL“in the search box, it will display results that indicate a failure during the installation process.

5-    For a list of possible errors that appear in your installation logs,

see Installation or launch log errors | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC.

I've seen suggestions that its might be to do with not having the Anniversary update, however I have this installed up to the most recent release. Any light on why this error is happening?

Creative cloud installs both 32 and 64 bit Photoshop and Illustrator apps. Do I need both or can I just uninstall the 32 bit without issue?

Thanks,

How do I resolve the error "Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before updating" when updating CC on MacOS 10.9.4?

Creative Cloud keeps alerting me to an available update but whenever I try to install it it tells me there is another installer running which must be shut down first.

I've now shut down and restarted the Mac completely and nothing else is running but it still gives me the same error (Error code: 81). See screen shot below.

I'm running Mavericks (OSX 10.9.4). How do I resolve this?

How to download and install Lightroom CC (2015)?

I purchased

Creative Cloud Photography plan (one-year)

Last year, using the creative cloud downloader, I installed Lightroom CC (2015). It works great.

Yesterday, I tried to install it on my laptop. It said, "you do not meet the minimum requirements". And then I noticed that it's a 2017 version for Windows 10. Well, I'm running Windows 7 and I'm not going to upgrade to Windows 10 anytime soon.

Can someone please explain how I can install Lightroom CC (2015)?

I tried a few things:

1) If I "manage account" and click download Lightroom - "you do not meet the minimum requirements" - it wants Windows 10 and I'm not doing that.

2) If I "manage account" and click download Lightroom Classic - it isn't the same as LIghtroom CC (2015). I don't see an option for Lightroom CC (2015).

3) In Adobe Desktop Service. On my desktop that I installed last year. I can see Lightroom CC (2015) under "installed apps". However, when I click on "ALL APP" it isn't listed.

4) In Adobe Desktop Service. On my laptop. I can't see Lightroom CC (2015) under "installed apps" or under "ALL APPS" - it isn't listed.

In general, what the heck is going on here with the versions? There are too many and the downloader makes it confusing vs what I paid for last year and the version I've been using isn't listed anymore.

For example, here are a bunch of versions that I've encountered while attempting to figure this out:

lightroom-6

lightroom-cc

lightroom-classic

lightroom-2015

lightroom

Man that's confusing! Did the (2015) version get renamed or something?

I'm stumped.

Thanks

Can't download Premiere Pro error 146

$

Hi. So I went to open Premiere Pro today and for the first time got an error message - Error Code 146. Long story short, I followed the instructions on the help page and deleted all Adobe apps as well as cleaning them all out with the Adobe App Cleaner program, downloaded Creative Cloud again and I still get the Error Code 146. Photoshop, the other program I use, seems fine, so it's just a Premiere Pro issue. Does anybody have a solution for this? I'm running a laptop with good specs and Windows 10.

Thanks in advance,

Antony.

Reinstalling CC 2019 Suite

Is there a straightforward way to selectively reinstall the CC 2019 Suite?  Or is the only way to remove and reinstall each app in turn?

I have just uninstalled CS6 which was installed concurrently.  In so doing, I now get a series of CS6ServiceManager.exe error messages, so I'm making the assumption that reinstalling CC 2019 will solve the issue..

Thanks.

Adobe Creative Cloud - roaming profile space issue

Since Adobe Creative Cloud has been installed on my machine I exceed my profile space every couple of days. I've then spent 1/2 hour hunting down odd files under C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming that I feel I can delete.

I changed these paths for testing but still no luck. My roaming profile space was again over the limit.

From ACC Apps:
Install location (from default folder to C:\ Drive (Creative Cloud Files) )

From ACC files:
Folder location (from default folder to C:\ Drive (Creative Cloud Files) )

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CCX Welcome\stock\assets and deleted 85MB of files.

Maybe you guys have a better solution.

Creative Cloud Desktop App Installer is Stuck

Hi there,

I'm having issues with installing the CC desktop app itself (not the apps within it). I uninstalled it as I was having issues with anything loading, but now I am unable to reinstall it. Each time I've tried, it either gets stuck at 2% or 33%, with no signs of advancement even after an hour of letting it simmer.

Screen Shot 2017-05-03 at 10.36.43 AM.png

I've tried the "change the permissions to read & write" advice, the "navigate to this folder and remove this stuff" advice, my firewall is off, I've restarted my Mac a couple times and then tried... Nothing. I'm worried that I may have deleted an important adobe file that needs to exist to download any of the apps now? Is that something that can happen? I don't know much about the back-end stuff, so I very well could have messed something up while navigating to folders and removing files.

Anything else I can do to resolve the problem?

Windows 10 - Can't install XD

I'm trying to install Experience Design CC (Beta) on Windows 10 with Creative Cloud. It's not installing under any circumstances. It goes up to maybe about 85% and then displays in orange text, "Installation Failed". I've searched around a bit and haven't found anything that worked. Yes, I have the Anniversary Edition. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Creative Cloud numerous times. It does not want to install no matter what I do. Any ideas/help?

"Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve the issue. Please click 'repair'..."

Hello all,

Since Friday, I have been receiving this annoying message on my computer.

I have put lots of effort in to fixing it but to no avail. Clicking "Repair" seems to solve the problem until the next time I reboot my PC at which point this comes back again. Additionally, doing a full uninstall and reinstall does not seem to fix it either, as rebooting causes this to pop up once again. The uninstall methods that I used include using the traditional method via the "Programs & Features" page on Windows as well as using Adobe's Creative Cloud uninstaller tool and neither have resolved this. Has anyone else been seeing this? And has anyone figured out a solution?

Installing Updates: Stuck at 0%

I've talked to Adobe support numerous times about this and I cannot get a solution from them whatsoever. Extremly frustrating as I cannot get any updates for my apps.

Basically, when I get a notification of an app update, I click update and the progress remains at 0% and never begins. I am able to log in under a dummy user accout (Mac OS 10.8.5) and install the updates, but that is a hassle and shouldn't be the way to accomplish this. I believe it is a permission issue, but I can't figure out why or how to fix it. I've uninstalled all apps, ran the cleaner tool, renamed files under /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ (per other forum instructions), etc. and nothing fixes the problem.

Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening? Has anyone had this same problem and found a fix?

Worst part of this whole thing...there is no other way to get an update besides using Creative Cloud Desktop.

How can I download and install Photoshop CC without Creative Cloud?

$

Hi All,

My colleague has purchased Photoshop CC license. When he want to install, we find it needs to install the Creative Cloud first.

Based on our security policy, any software related to cloud storage was strictly prohibited to installed on working computers.

Can we download and install Photoshop CC without Creative Cloud? How to make that?

I can turn off the Cloud Storage in the option, but this doesn't need any admin authority. So user can turn on it by himself. How to disable the Cloud Service?
