Lightroom Classic CC Offline Updater

Why are there no (apparent) direct download links for updates to Lightroom Classic CC?

The link to download the full installer is here: Download Creative Cloud apps , but this is for version 7.0.1 (the current version is 7.2). I don't want to update through the cloud or download manager. Previous versions of Lightroom could be updated with offline installers (i.e. here's the updater for 6.14: Download Photoshop Lightroom), but despite scouring Google & the forums, I've been unable to find a proper updater for 7.x.  I'm really not able to understand why Adobe makes it so difficult...

Some people may simply prefer to (or be required to) keep their main work computer offline, and use a second PC for internet. Are these users not entitled to receive the same updates as those who desire (or are allowed to) keep theirs connected directly?

And even for typically-connected laptops, there are many situations in which an offline installer would be useful or necessary.  For instance, I often go on long photography trips where issues sometimes arise that require me to reinstall, reformat, or even replace the system.  I carry a hard drive with installers for the current version of literally every application I use...except Adobe’s.  This means that if I need to reinstall during one of these trips (or any other time I don’t have direct access to fast/unmetered internet), I'm stuck having to rollback to older versions.

Is there some reason Adobe makes it so difficult to update their software, or did I simply somehow overlook an obvious download link that didn't come up when searching Google or the forums...?

Couldn’t uninstall Creative Cloud for desktop. You still have Creative Cloud applications installed on your computer that require it.

HI

I am trying to uninstall creative cloud from a Mac but when using the uninstaller I get a message

"Couldn’t uninstall Creative Cloud for desktop. You still have Creative Cloud applications installed on your computer that require it."

I then check my installed Apps from the list in the Creative Cloud menu bar and there are none installed. So what am I supposed to do?

I do however have some installed on another machine is that a factor? I only want to uninstall creative cloud from one machine and not the other.

How to download and install Lightroom CC (2015)?

$

I purchased

Creative Cloud Photography plan (one-year)

Last year, using the creative cloud downloader, I installed Lightroom CC (2015). It works great.

Yesterday, I tried to install it on my laptop. It said, "you do not meet the minimum requirements". And then I noticed that it's a 2017 version for Windows 10. Well, I'm running Windows 7 and I'm not going to upgrade to Windows 10 anytime soon.

Can someone please explain how I can install Lightroom CC (2015)?

I tried a few things:

1) If I "manage account" and click download Lightroom - "you do not meet the minimum requirements" - it wants Windows 10 and I'm not doing that.

2) If I "manage account" and click download Lightroom Classic - it isn't the same as LIghtroom CC (2015). I don't see an option for Lightroom CC (2015).

3) In Adobe Desktop Service. On my desktop that I installed last year. I can see Lightroom CC (2015) under "installed apps". However, when I click on "ALL APP" it isn't listed.

4) In Adobe Desktop Service. On my laptop. I can't see Lightroom CC (2015) under "installed apps" or under "ALL APPS" - it isn't listed.

In general, what the heck is going on here with the versions? There are too many and the downloader makes it confusing vs what I paid for last year and the version I've been using isn't listed anymore.

For example, here are a bunch of versions that I've encountered while attempting to figure this out:

lightroom-6

lightroom-cc

lightroom-classic

lightroom-2015

lightroom

Man that's confusing! Did the (2015) version get renamed or something?

I'm stumped.

Thanks

Must Constantly Reinstall/Repair Creative Cloud

$

I installed Adobe Creative Cloud. At first, every time I launch it, I received a message stating that the app was damaged. I would click "Repair" to continue.

A reinstall would process, and the error would disappear - only to reappear an hour or so later.

Finally, the repairs started failing, and I received a message instructing me to reinstall Creative Cloud. After reinstalling, Apps function for a day or so, and then I start getting errors again:

"Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve the problem, is missing or damaged. You can try to repair to fix the issue. If the problem persists, download and install the new copy from 'http://www.adobe.com/adobecreativecloudapp'."

So once again, I removed and reinstall.

No change - keeps getting repair prompts.

So after repairs and reinstalls - what else is there?

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Intel Xeon CPU E5-1650 v3 @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz

I'm currently trialling indesign but I keep getting the same error every time I exit the program and try to start it up again.

"Please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of the screen. Error 16"

This isn't the only reoccurring error, every time I turn my PC on and off - Adobe Cloud gets an error and needs to be repaired (reinstalled).

This is doing my nut in!

So far I have uninstalled everything and used the Adobe Cleaner Tool. I must of done this at least 3 times. I have changed the privacy settings also. Both methods found in other forums but to no avail.

I'm sure you will need more information, just let me know.

PS. Specs of my PC will not be an issue.

Why is my Creative Cloud App not launching?

$

Hello,

The Creative Cloud App has been working very well for several months.  However, just within the last couple of days, it has stopped opening. This is what happens.

After the Creative Cloud App is launched the spinning wheel spins for quite some time then resolves to the login screen. I login and the spinning wheel proceeds to spin again. Shortly thereafter a dialog box pops up that says:

"Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve the problem, is missing or damaged. You can try to repair to fix the issue. If the problem persists, download and install a new copy from www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloud.app"

I have followed the above instructions but the app still will not launch properly. I have also followed Solutions #2 thru #5 obtained from Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app doesn't open or shows a spinning progress wheel without success (please see below).

I've also contacted the Geek Squad and they have performed a total tune-up of my machine, have tried to reinstall the app but have been unsuccessful. The computer is clean and free of viruses.

This is beyond frustrating!

I would appreciate any help you can offer!

Solution 2: Restart your computer and relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app

  • Quit the Creative Cloud desktop appl from the gear icon in the upper-right corner.

  •

    Close all applications.

  •

Restart the computer and launch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution 3: Upgrade to the current version of the Creative Cloud desktop app

Upgrading to the current version of the Creative Cloud desktop app resolves this issue. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Download and install the updated version of the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Note:The following steps allow you to locate the currently installed version of the Creative Cloud desktop app:

  1. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Go to Preferences.
  3. Under the General tab, click Account. Version information is available above the Adobe ID.

Solution 4: Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app

Solution 5: Delete the contents of the OOBE folder and relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app

  • Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app from the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Browse to the following location based on your operating system.
    • Mac OS: /Users/<user folder>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
Note:The \Users\<user folder>\Library\ is hidden by default after 10.7. See Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later for instructions on accessing it.
    • Windows: C:\Users\<user folder>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Note:The AppData is hidden with Windows default settings. See Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows for instructions to show it.
  • Delete the entire contents of the OOBE folder.
  • Restart the computer and launch the Creative Cloud desktop app again.Note: The app can take slightly longer than usual to load with this solution, as content in the OOBE folder is rebuilt after launch.

How do you uninstall Creative Cloud WITHOUT updating the apps first?

$

I really don't need or want to spend data and hours to update a program I intend to remove.

It's trying to update the entire Creative Cloud program and apps, but is not letting me access the app list without updating first. The only options are "update apps" and "quit Creative Cloud".

I'm using Windows 10 and every uninstall option leads right back into Creative Cloud which, again, doesn't let me remove any apps until it spends the several hours updating them.

How do I just tell it to remove itself completely from my computer without any further hassle and without ruining my subscription or account or whatever?
